Not crawling at 8 months - worried
Lily is 8 months and shows zero interest in crawling. She's happy to sit and play but won't get on all fours. Pediatrician says she's fine but I see other babies her age zooming around. Should I be concerned or doing more to encourage her?
If your pediatrician isn't concerned, try not to worry! The typical range for crawling is 6-10 months, and some babies skip crawling entirely and go straight to walking. Every baby develops at their own pace. To encourage movement: place toys just out of reach, do lots of tummy time, get down on the floor with her, and create a safe space for exploration. Some babies are 'observers' who prefer to watch and learn before trying. As long as she's meeting other milestones (sitting, reaching, engaging), she's likely just taking her own time. Keep enjoying her current stage!
Always consult your pediatrician for medical advice.
