Diaper rash won't go away

Emma has had a diaper rash for 3 days now. I've been using diaper cream at every change and letting her have some diaper-free time. Still not improving. Should I be worried? What worked for your babies?

Persistent diaper rash after 3 days of treatment may need a different approach. If the rash is bright red with defined edges or has small red dots around the edges, it could be a yeast infection which requires antifungal cream (like Lotrimin). Other tips: change diapers more frequently, use fragrance-free wipes or just water and a soft cloth, try a different diaper brand, apply a thick layer of barrier cream (zinc oxide works well), and ensure the area is completely dry before putting on a new diaper. If it doesn't improve in another 2-3 days or gets worse, definitely contact your pediatrician as prescription treatment may be needed.

Always consult your pediatrician for medical advice.

Could be a yeast rash if regular cream isn't working. Those need antifungal treatment. Worth asking your pediatrician about!

Try using plain coconut oil! It worked wonders for Noah's rashes. But if it's not better in another day or two, definitely call the pediatrician.
